We’re Expanding: Just Energy Solutions Opens Office in South West

Second branch of Just Energy Solutions has now opened in Truro, Cornwall Currently servicing the South East including London, the Home Counties and East Anglia from our St Albans Office, the Truro Office will expand the Team’s area of operation to cover the South West including Somerset, Devon and Cornwall. The new Office will meet the renewable energy, efficient heating and smart home technology installation, service and maintenance needs of both domestic and commercial customers in the area, as well as creating local opportunities for employment. Plans to develop operations in the South West were initiated by a growing demand for the services we provide in the region. After starting work in the area in April 2014 with a small team of surveyors and engineers, we’ve grown to expand our team of operations managers, surveyors, engineers and apprentices – as well as currently having vacancies for two additional engineers (interested engineers should contact us for details or visit our website’s Careers section). The new office is operated out of Penstraze Business Centre, a stone’s throw from bustling Truro – Cornwall’s centre for administration, leisure and retail. “Our whole ethos is built around the service we deliver to our customers and the fact that we can make a difference to those living in the region, which makes me proud to be at the forefront of the South West development. “By having such a diverse product range, from biomass and solar PV through to conventional gas, oil and electric heating we, as our name suggests, have a solution to suit every customer’s needs. Cost-effective servicing ensures we’re not just interested in new jobs,...

LED vs Traditional Lighting

The vast majority of us still use traditional halogen bulbs to light up our homes, which is more than likely due to the cost differences between traditional light bulbs and energy efficient bulbs (on average, LED bulbs cost six times as much as halogen bulbs) However, LEDs can return on their investment in just two years, leaving you to benefit from £40 a year savings on your electricity bills. This saving is due to the fact that LED lights need a loss let power to run than traditional lights. Traditional lights only use around 20% of their electrical energy to produce light, and lose 80% of their energy to heat. LED bulbs do quite the opposite, they use 80-90% of their electrical energy to produce light, and only lose around 10% to heat. LED bulbs also last much longer than traditional bulbs. LEDs have a lifetime of up to 50,000 hours (and many last even longer!) whereas a traditional halogen bulb only has a lifespan around 1,500 hours. That means that LED bulbs last 30 years longer on average, which saves you even more money as you don’t have to replace them so often. LEDs even come with environmental benefits. Unlike traditional bulbs, they do not contain any harmful gasses such as mercury and they not emit any UV rays. And, since they use less power than traditional bulbs they can also help to lower your homes carbon emissions.
