How having an “A” Rated Boiler makes a difference

Your boiler is responsible for making up around 60% of your household energy bill each year, so having an efficient model makes a huge difference to your bills. A boiler with a high efficiency rating will need to use less fuel, which results in lower CO2emissions and reduced heating costs. Most new condensing boilers have an efficiency rating of 90% or more, which makes them an “A” Rated boiler. If your current boiler is quite old and is non-condensing, then it is likely to be a G Rated model, with an efficiency rating of 70% or less. By upgrading to a new, condensing model you could save up to £300 a year on your heating bills. Green Deal Boiler The efficiency rating of your current boiler will be down to both the boilers manufacturer and how old it is. To check the efficiency rating of your current boiler click on the following link:http://www.boilers.org.uk Thanks to the Governments Green Deal Scheme and Affordable Warmth Scheme, now is the best time to consider a boiler replacement. The Green Deal Scheme – Simplified

With energy bills on the rise and fears for global warming increasing, it is now more important than ever to make your home more efficient so that you save on your energy bills and reduce your carbon footprint. The problem? Making energy efficient changes to your home can be expensive and many do not have the cash up front to pay for the improvements. This is why the government introduced theGreen Deal Scheme. Green Deal UK enables you to make energy-saving improvements to your home without paying anything upfront. Instead, you pay back the cost of the improvements through your energy bills. The best bit? The golden rule of Green Deal is that your repayments can never be more than what your energy bills came to before you made the improvements. This enables you to make energy-saving improvements such as: boiler replacement, loft and wall insulation, draught-proofing, double glazing and renewable energy generation such as heat pumps or solar PV panels. All you need to do to see if you could benefit from the Green Deal Scheme is to get a Green Deal Assessment done on your property. This will provide you with a report showing what energy-savings improvements you could make to your home and how much you would save by making them. Air Source Heat Pumps – The Easy Way to Cut your Fuel Bills and become more Energy Efficient

Nicknamed as ‘fit and forget’ technology Air Source Heat Pumps have become a hassle free way of decreasing your fuel bills and lowering your homes carbon emissions. Given their nickname due to the fact they require very little maintenance, air source heat pumps work simply by extracting heat from the outside air which can then be used to heat your home and provide hot water. They can extract heat from the outside air in temperatures as low as -15° C, making it cost effective to heat your home all year round. On top of the savings you will make on your fuel bills, you could also earn an extra income through the government’s Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme. By installing an Air Source Heat Pump you could earn anything from £850 to £1280 a year.
